2023 Leadership Academy
Overview:
The Harris County Democratic Party is looking for hardworking, passionate, future organizers to join our virtual Leadership Academy this Spring. Harris County Democrats won big last cycle and now it's time to get ready for this November and onward!
Let's keep Harris County blue in 2024!
This program provides a unique learning opportunity for volunteer leaders to gain hands-on exposure to grassroots organizing, strengthen your understanding of the political process, and help us prepare to elect the progressive leaders in our community. Participants will have the chance to organize their community virtually in grassroots efforts, such as phone banking and texting.
Responsibilities:

Participate in virtual phone banks to identify Democratic supporters

Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to build our volunteer capacity

Assist with special projects and tasks in other areas as needed
Qualifications:

An interest in politics and identify as a Democrat or Progressive

Access to internet and computer/smart device for virtual participation

Quick to learn and keen attention to detail

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion

Basic technological proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Google Spreadsheet, etc)

Aptitude for creative thinking and output

Flexible schedule and be available to attend at least 10 hours a week, occasionally weekends
